FAQs

The verse highlights that a dharmic, sacred union conducted with purity generates sattvic upliftment—joy that spreads from individuals to the entire divine assembly—reflecting Shiva’s grace as the source of auspiciousness and harmony.

Though the Linga is not named here, the wedding’s auspiciousness points to Saguna Shiva’s benevolent presence in sacred rites; in Shaiva practice, such auspicious events are sanctified through Shiva-centric worship, acknowledging him as the bestower of मंगल (mangala).

The takeaway is to sanctify major life-rites with Shiva-bhakti—reciting the Panchākṣarī (“Om Namaḥ Śivāya”) and maintaining sattvic conduct—so the rite becomes “sukhavardhana,” an increaser of inner peace and devotion.
