Outrora, seu coração estava toldado por intenso ódio; mas, no exato momento em que contemplou Śiva, tornou-se puro—como a lua do outono, límpida e sem mancha.
Suta Goswami
Tattva Level: pashu
Shiva Form: Mahādeva
Significance: General tīrtha-theology: Śiva-darśana is portrayed as immediate purification (mala-kṣaya) and softening of dveṣa, a prerequisite for higher sādhana.
It teaches that even a mind stained by intense hatred can be purified instantly through Śiva-darśana, because Śiva as Pati is the remover of mala (impurity) and the bestower of inner clarity.
The verse highlights the power of direct encounter with Saguna Śiva—whether through the living presence of the Lord or through Linga-darśana—where focused seeing (darśana) becomes a grace-filled act that dissolves inner negativity.
Regular Śiva-darśana with steady bhakti—such as daily Linga worship while repeating the Panchākṣarī “Om Namaḥ Śivāya”—is implied as a simple practice to cleanse anger and hatred and stabilize the mind.
