The verse highlights kṛpā (divine grace) as central: devotees and divine attendants alike petition Mahādeva to reveal his auspicious, saguna presence through the sacred act of marriage with Mahādevī—an emblem of cosmic harmony and the soul’s movement toward Shiva through grace.
Addressing Shiva as Mahādeva/Maheśvara emphasizes saguna devotion—approaching the Lord as a compassionate person who responds to prayer. In Shaiva practice, such remembrance complements Linga worship: the formless Linga signifies the Absolute, while this narrative supports loving, personal devotion to Shiva’s manifest leela.
A practical takeaway is to pray for Shiva’s kṛpā with japa of the Panchākṣarī (“Om Namaḥ Śivāya”) while mentally contemplating Shiva-Parvati vivāha; on Mahāśivarātri, this can be paired with simple Linga abhiṣeka and offering of bhasma/tripuṇḍra in a spirit of humility.
