Ali, as sete Mães Divinas, cheias de júbilo, realizaram devidamente o rito supremo de adornar Śiva; e, em seguida, tornaram a dispor tudo corretamente, conforme o que era apropriado.
Sūta Gosvāmin (narrating to the sages of Naimiṣāraṇya)
Tattva Level: pati
Shiva Form: Umāpati
Sthala Purana: The Saptamātṛkā motif belongs to Śaiva-Śākta ritual culture (protective and auspicious powers) and is here integrated into Śiva’s festival adornment, not a Jyotirliṅga narrative.
Significance: Affirms the legitimacy of Mātṛkā-upāsanā as ancillary to Śiva worship in many kṣetras; models ‘bhūṣā-vidhi’ (adornment) as a devotional upacāra.
Shakti Form: Durgā
Role: nurturing
Offering: pushpa
It highlights that even the Divine Mothers express bhakti through disciplined, joyful seva—showing that correct worship (vidhi) offered with devotion purifies the mind and aligns the soul toward Śiva, the supreme Pati.
The verse emphasizes saguna-upāsanā—honoring Śiva through tangible acts like adornment and orderly ritual. Such external worship, done with right intent, supports inner contemplation of Śiva’s supreme reality.
Perform Śiva-pūjā with yathāyogya-vidhi—cleanliness, proper offerings, and reverent adornment—while maintaining a joyful, concentrated mind; this can be paired with japa of the Pañcākṣarī (Om Namaḥ Śivāya).
