Bṛhaspati disse: “Todos os deuses tornaram-se voltados ao próprio interesse, destruindo o bem alheio. Por ter difamado Śaṅkara, certamente irei ao inferno.”
Brihaspati
Tattva Level: pasha
Shiva Form: Mahādeva
The verse highlights Śiva-aparādha (offense against Lord Śiva): condemning Śaṅkara is portrayed as a grave karmic fault that obstructs grace and leads to painful consequences, urging humility and devotion over ego-driven judgment.
Liṅga/Saguṇa-Śiva worship is grounded in reverence and surrender; this verse warns that disrespect toward Śiva undermines the very attitude required for fruitful pūjā, mantra-japa, and receiving Śiva’s anugraha (grace).
A practical takeaway is to avoid nindā (slander) and instead perform Śiva-nāma japa—especially the Pañcākṣarī “Om Namaḥ Śivāya”—with repentance, along with simple Śiva-pūjā (water offering) to restore devotional purity.
