Ó Śiva, Senhor do estandarte do Touro! Se renunciei a todos os desejos mundanos e sou verdadeiramente devoto de Ti, que Śaṅkara, o sempre auspicioso, se compadeça de mim e me conceda graça aqui e agora.
Pārvatī
Tattva Level: pashu
Shiva Form: Umāpati
Type: stotra
Shakti Form: Pārvatī
Role: liberating
It presents the Shaiva path of grace (prasāda): when the seeker renounces self-centered desires and becomes single-heartedly devoted, Śiva (Pati) is pleased and bestows spiritual fulfillment that culminates in liberation.
Calling Śiva as Vṛṣadhvaja and Śaṅkara emphasizes Saguna devotion—approaching the compassionate Lord through loving surrender. In Linga-worship, the same inner attitude (desirelessness and bhakti) is taught as the essence that makes pūjā spiritually effective.
The takeaway is a vow of renunciation and focused bhakti: worship Śiva with a one-pointed mind—ideally with japa of the Pañcākṣarī (“Om Namaḥ Śivāya”)—offering desires into Śiva and seeking only his grace.
