Significance: Supports the Siddhānta doctrine that grace (anugraha) empowers right restraint and protection; devotion to Umā-Pati is sought for inner control and outer harmony.

Shakti Form: Pārvatī

FAQs

The verse highlights that destructive force (fire-like tejas) becomes spiritually legitimate and effective only when governed by Śiva’s grace; divine power is to be restrained and directed toward dharma, not uncontrolled harm.

By crediting her ability to restrain the blazing force to “Śambhu’s prasāda,” the verse points to Saguna Śiva as the accessible Lord who bestows empowering grace—central to devotional worship of Śiva, including Liṅga-upāsanā.

The takeaway is reliance on Śiva-prasāda through steady japa of the Pañcākṣarī (Om Namaḥ Śivāya) and devotional discipline, cultivating inner restraint (saṃyama) so spiritual energy (tejas) is stabilized rather than impulsive.
