Dialogue of Kāma and Śakra
Indra

The verse emphasizes dharmic universality: auspicious action is not a private agenda but a shared sacred responsibility. In Shaiva understanding, harmony in the worlds is sustained when all beings align their duties with the divine order upheld by Shiva.
Linga-worship and devotion to Saguna Shiva are presented in the Shiva Purana as benefiting not only the individual devotee but also the cosmic order. This verse mirrors that principle: what is truly auspicious serves the welfare of all, including the Devas.
The takeaway is to perform Shiva-oriented worship as a selfless offering—japa of the Panchakshara ("Om Namaḥ Śivāya") and simple Linga-puja with a loka-kalyāṇa (welfare of all) intention.
