It highlights the Shaiva ethic of śaraṇāgati (surrender): when the mind is afflicted, one approaches the Divine with humility (praṇāma), praise (stuti), and reverent openness, allowing grace and right guidance to arise.
The verse models Saguna-upāsanā—approaching the Divine Person with folded hands and heartfelt praise—an inner posture that also accompanies Linga worship, where devotion and truthful confession of one’s state are central.
Practice añjali with pranama before worship, then offer stuti and a truthful ‘nivedana’ (reporting one’s inner condition) while repeating a Shiva mantra such as the Panchākṣarī, cultivating humility and receptivity to grace.
