Description of the Commencement of Battle
Tattva Level: pasha
Shiva Form: Āghoramūrti
Shakti Form: Kālī
Role: destructive
It underscores the stark impermanence of the body and the harsh outcome of adharmic conflict—reminding the listener to seek refuge in Śiva (Pati) through dharma and devotion rather than identifying with perishable flesh.
By contrasting the destructible body with the enduring refuge of Śiva, it indirectly points toward Saguna worship (Liṅga-bhakti) as a stabilizing path: turning from the scene of death toward the auspicious Lord who grants protection and liberation.
A practical takeaway is vairāgya with japa: mentally detach from bodily identification and repeat the Pañcākṣarī—“Om Namaḥ Śivāya”—while adopting Śiva-dharma disciplines such as bhasma (tripuṇḍra) and devotion-centered conduct.
