न चक्रुर्बालकं याश्च लोचनानामगोचरम् । प्राणेभ्योपि प्रेमपात्रं यः पोष्टा तस्य पुत्रक
na cakrurbālakaṃ yāśca locanānāmagocaram | prāṇebhyopi premapātraṃ yaḥ poṣṭā tasya putraka
Aquelas mulheres não conseguiram olhar para a criança, pois ela estava além do alcance de seus olhos. Ela lhes era mais querida do que o próprio sopro vital—o amado objeto do seu amor—por ser o filho estimado daquele que as havia nutrido.
