Pataṅga / Solar-bird (mystic Sun); associated with Asura (sovereign) and the Marīcīs (rays)
Este hino, breve mas profundamente místico, contempla Pataṅga, o princípio solar «alado», como o Sol oculto da consciência, percebido pelos videntes através do coração e da mente. Ele liga o Pássaro-Sol à māyā de Asura (poder soberano de dar forma), aos Marīcīs (raios de iluminação) e a Vāk, a Palavra inspirada, guardada no posto do Ṛta (ordem da verdade).

Mantra 1
पतंगमक्तमसुरस्य मायया हृदा पश्यन्ति मनसा विपश्चितः । समुद्रे अन्तः कवयो वि चक्षते मरीचीनां पदमिच्छन्ति वेधसः ॥
Os videntes iluminados contemplam, com o coração e com a mente, o Alado, ungido pela Māyā do Asura. No interior do oceano, os poetas discernem; os sábios (vedhás) buscam a morada dos Raios.

पतंगो वाचं मनसा बिभर्ति तां गन्धर्वोऽवदद्गर्भे अन्तः । तां द्योतमानां स्वर्यं मनीषामृतस्य पदे कवयो नि पान्ति ॥
O Alado (Pataṅgá) sustém a Palavra na mente; o Gandharva a proferiu no interior do seio (das coisas). Essa inspiração fulgente, clara como o sol — no passo do Ṛta (Verdade-Ordem) — os videntes a guardam e a bebem.
