Então o poderoso Indrajit, matador de inimigos e exímio arqueiro, sentado num carro ricamente ornado, avistou o irmão mais novo de Rāghava, Lakṣmaṇa, também esplendidamente preparado para a batalha.
In the combat both the heroes fought displaying their might, shone like two planets in the heaven and fought like Indra and Vrta and were difficult to overcome.
Dharma here is implicit: the battlefield meeting frames Lakṣmaṇa’s duty as Rāma’s protector and Indrajit’s role as an aggressor defending adharma; recognition precedes righteous resistance.
Indrajit, in his decorated chariot, notices Lakṣmaṇa on the battlefield, setting up their direct clash.
Lakṣmaṇa’s steadfast strength and readiness to uphold Rāma’s cause; Indrajit’s martial prowess is also noted, heightening the trial of dharma.
