कुम्भकर्णवधश्रवणेन रावणविलापः
Ravana’s Lament on Hearing of Kumbhakarna’s Slaying
प्रतपित्वा मुहूर्तंतुप्रशान्तोरामतेजसा ।कायेनार्थप्रविष्टेनसमुद्रंभीमदर्शनम् ।।।।निकृत्तकण्ठोरुभुजोविक्षरन्रुधिरंबहु ।रुद्ध्वाद्वारंशरीरेणलङ्कायाःपर्वतोपमः ।।।।कुम्भकर्णस्तवभ्राताकाकुत्स्थशरपीडितः ।लगण्डभूतोविकृतोदावदग्धइवद्रुमः ।।।।
pratapitvā muhūrtaṃ tu praśānto rāma-tejasā |
kāyenārtha-praviṣṭena samudraṃ bhīma-darśanam ||
nikṛtta-kaṇṭhoru-bhujo vikṣaran rudhiraṃ bahu |
ruddhvā dvāraṃ śarīreṇa laṅkāyāḥ parvatopamaḥ ||
kumbhakarṇas tava bhrātā kākutstha-śara-pīḍitaḥ |
lagaṇḍa-bhūto vikṛto dāva-dagdha iva drumaḥ ||
Por um breve momento teu irmão Kumbhakarṇa exibiu seu poder; mas foi aquietado pelo tejas flamejante de Rāma. Seu corpo, como uma montanha—mutilado, vertendo muito sangue—jazia como um terrível mar de ruína, bloqueando com o próprio cadáver o portão de Laṅkā. Ferido pelas flechas de Kakutstha, ficou disforme, como uma árvore queimada num incêndio de floresta.
