विभीषणागमनम्
Vibhīṣaṇa’s Arrival and the Debate on Refuge
तमहंहेतुभिर्वाक्यैर्विविधैश्चन्यदर्शयम् ।साधुनिर्यात्यतांसीतारामायेतिपुनःपुनः ।।6.17.14।।
tam ahaṃ hetubhir vākyair vividhaiś ca nyadarśayam | sādhu niryātyatāṃ sītā rāmāyeti punaḥ punaḥ ||
Repetidas vezes procurei fazê-lo compreender, com argumentos bem ponderados e palavras diversas: «É o correto — que Sītā seja devolvida a Rāma», insisti de novo e de novo.
"I argued with him again and again in several ways to explain him and admonished him saying 'restore Sita to Rama'."
Restoring what is wrongfully taken is dharma: Vibhīṣaṇa insists that Sītā must be returned to her rightful husband, Rāma.
Vibhīṣaṇa recounts to Rāma that he repeatedly advised Rāvaṇa—using many arguments—to return Sītā.
Wise counsel and perseverance—he continues to speak satya with reason, not merely emotion.
