Commencement of the Ocean-Crossing
एवमुक्तः कपिश्रेष्ठस्तं नगोत्तममब्रवीत्।प्रीतोऽस्मि कृतमातिथ्यं मन्युरेषोऽपनीयताम्।।।।
evam uktaḥ kapiśreṣṭhas taṃ nagottamam abravīt |
prīto ’smi kṛtam ātithyaṃ manyur eṣo ’panīyatām ||
Assim abordado, o mais notável dos macacos disse àquela melhor das montanhas: "Estou satisfeito; a tua hospitalidade foi devidamente oferecida — que esta angústia seja posta de lado."
The great Hanuman, pleased with the words of Mainaka, said "I am pleased at yourhospitality. Remove your unhappiness.
Dharma is polite truthfulness and reassurance: Hanuman acknowledges the hospitality sincerely while calming Maināka’s worry, showing speech that is both true and compassionate.
Hanuman replies to Maināka’s invitation, expressing appreciation and asking him to abandon any sadness or concern.
Hanuman’s courtesy (vinaya) and emotional steadiness—he honors the host while staying mission-focused.
