Visvamitra and Vasistha: Contest of Divine Weapons
क्व च ते क्षत्रियबलं क्व च ब्रह्मबलं महत्।पश्य ब्रह्मबलं दिव्यं मम क्षत्रियपांसन।।।।
kva ca te kṣatriyabalaṃ kva ca brahmabalaṃ mahat |
paśya brahmabalaṃ divyaṃ mama kṣatriyapāṃsana ||
«Onde está a tua força de kṣatriya, e onde está o grande poder do Brahman? Contempla o meu divino poder bramânico, ó o mais vil entre os kṣatriyas.»
'O Brahman! great ascetic Viswamitra was controlled by you. O Best of ascetics! bepleased and let the worlds be delivered from distress'.
Dharma elevates inner discipline (tapas and brahma-tejas) above dominance through violence; true authority is rooted in restraint and righteousness.
Vasiṣṭha asserts the superiority of brahma-power over warrior force as the duel escalates.
The supremacy of ascetic discipline (tapas) as a moral and spiritual power, not merely a display of force.
