Arrival at the Sacrificial Ground and Janaka’s Reception
The king then folded his hands in supplication to the foremost of ascetics, Viswamitra, saying "O Venerable one! please be seated along with the eminent ascetics."
Hospitality and reverence toward ascetics (atithi-satkāra and ṛṣi-sammāna): honoring spiritual authority is a key duty of rulers and householders.
At the sacrificial setting, the king formally welcomes Viśvāmitra and the sages and offers them seats.
Humility and respect (vinaya)—shown by folded hands and courteous invitation.
