Ayodhyā’s Succession Alarm
Kausalya whose son is going to be coronated as heir-apparent by eminentbrahmins under Pushya star tomorrow is fortunate, indeed.
The verse highlights rajadharma expressed through orderly, ritually sanctioned succession: a public consecration performed by qualified brāhmaṇas at an auspicious time, indicating legitimacy, social trust, and adherence to established norms.
News is being emphasized that the prince (Rāma, as understood in context) will be installed as heir-apparent the next day under Puṣya, and Kauśalyā is described as fortunate because her son is about to receive the consecration.
The virtue implied is commitment to rightful order and public legitimacy—succession is not private ambition but a dharmic, community-validated act aligned with tradition and auspicious timing.
