रामदर्शनार्थं दारानयनम्
The Queens Summoned; Rama’s Leave-Taking and Dasaratha’s Collapse
येन संस्तम्भनीयोऽयं सर्वो बाष्पगलो जनः।स त्वं पुरुषशार्दूल किमर्थं विक्रियां गतः।।।।
yena saṃstambhanīyo 'yaṃ sarvo bāṣpa-galo janaḥ | sa tvaṃ puruṣaśārdūla kim arthaṃ vikriyāṃ gataḥ ||
Tu és aquele por quem deve ser amparado todo este povo, com a garganta sufocada de lágrimas. Por que, ó tigre entre os homens, caíste em tal mudança?
When you, O tiger among men, are required (as king) to pacify those whose throats are choked with tears, why this change in you?
Rāja-dharma: the ruler must stabilize society in crisis; personal anguish should not eclipse public responsibility.
Rāma urges Daśaratha to regain composure, since the grieving populace needs the king’s steadiness.
Leadership through self-control and duty-first orientation.
