The Queens Behold Rama’s Śrāddha Offering
इदमिक्ष्वाकुनाथस्य राघवस्य महात्मनः।राघवेण पितुर्दत्तं पश्यतैतद्यथाविधि।।2.103.10।।
idam ikṣvākunāthasya rāghavasya mahātmanaḥ |
rāghaveṇa pitur dattaṁ paśyataitad yathāvidhi || 2.103.10 ||
Vede, segundo o rito devido, esta oferenda que Rāghava (Rāma) deu a seu pai—Daśaratha, o magnânimo senhor da linhagem de Ikṣvāku.
Have darsan of this pinda offered by Rama according to tradition to his magnanimous father, Dasaratha, lord of the Ikshvaku race.
Ritual and filial dharma: performing prescribed rites (yathāvidhi) for one’s father is treated as a moral obligation sustaining social and spiritual order.
