क्रोधागारप्रवेशः — Entry into the Chamber of Wrath
Kaikeyī’s Protest
स कैकेय्या गृहं श्रेष्ठं प्रविवेश महायशाः।।।।पाण्डुराभ्रमिवाकाशं राहुयुक्तं निशाकरः।
sa kaikeyyā gṛhaṃ śreṣṭhaṃ praviveśa mahāyaśāḥ |
pāṇḍurābhram ivākāśaṃ rāhuyuktaṃ niśākaraḥ ||
O rei de grande glória entrou na esplêndida residência de Kaikeyī, como a lua entra num céu velado por nuvens pálidas, acompanhada por Rāhu, o poder do eclipse.
The illustrious king entered the excellent abode of Kaikeyi like the Moon entering the mouth of Rahu in a sky overcast with pale clouds.
The verse underscores how adharma casts a shadow even over rightful joy: when truth and duty are about to be obstructed, the world is depicted as eclipsed.
Daśaratha enters Kaikeyī’s chambers to share news of Rāma’s coronation, but the simile signals that an eclipse-like crisis is about to overtake the royal household.
Not a direct virtue, but a narrative device: foreboding through cosmic imagery, highlighting the fragility of dharmic order when poisoned by intrigue.
