Concept: A properly authorized sacred observance has multi-layered fruit: pāpa-kṣaya (sin-destruction), durjana-nigraha (checking wickedness), and worldly-spiritual uplift culminating in Kali-age purification.

Application: Treat daily purity practices (snāna, japa, sat-saṅga, truthful speech) as a protective discipline: reduce harmful habits, strengthen body-mind steadiness, and cultivate a reputation grounded in integrity rather than display.

Primary Rasa: shanta

Secondary Rasa: adbhuta

FAQs

The verse praises something (often a sacred name, hymn, tīrtha, or devotional act in Purāṇic contexts) as sin-destroying, wicked-subduing, strength- and prosperity-increasing, and as removing Kali-yuga impurity; the specific referent is not identifiable from this single excerpt alone.

It frames Kali-yuga as an age marked by “kalmaṣa” (moral/spiritual defilement) and highlights a remedial sacred means that purifies, promotes virtue, and restrains harmful tendencies.

Purity and uplift are presented as attainable through a sanctifying practice that reduces sin, curbs wrongdoing, and supports wholesome qualities like strength, prosperity, success, and good reputation.
