FAQs

Gandharvas are traditionally portrayed as celestial musicians and singers; this verse reinforces that identity by describing them as experts in gīta-jñāna (knowledge of song/music).

It indicates a setting where sacred recitation is actively taking place—participants are “equipped with” or “engaged in” Vedic chanting, suggesting a ritual or auspicious assembly.

The verse presents sacred sound in two complementary forms—Vedic chant and refined devotional/ceremonial music—implying that disciplined speech and art can both be oriented toward dharma and sanctity.
