Glory of Prayaga and the Magha Bath at Triveni
Narada (narrating to the Sanatkumara brothers)
Vrata: Mahāmāghī (context continued)
Primary Rasa: adbhuta
Secondary Rasa: shanta
It teaches the extraordinary purificatory power (śuddhi and puṇya) attributed to Prayāga: a single sacred bath can elevate a person’s spiritual standing and dharmic identity.
While not explicitly naming Viṣṇu-bhakti here, the verse reflects a core Purāṇic bhakti principle: sacred acts performed with śraddhā at revered tīrthas support inner purification, making one fit for devotion and higher dharma.
Ritual practice (kalpa-oriented conduct) is implied: tīrtha-snāna as a prescribed act with a specific result (phala). No technical discussion of vyākaraṇa/śikṣā/jyotiṣa appears in this verse.
