The Account of Hanumān
Gautama (sage)
Vrata: none
Primary Rasa: karuna (compassion)
Secondary Rasa: vira (heroic)
It frames a dharmic inquiry into karmic causality—before judging an outcome (like beheading), one must ask what adharma (pāpa) led to it, emphasizing moral accountability.
Indirectly, it supports bhakti-driven dharma: devotion is not sentimental alone but aligned with righteousness, discernment, and understanding the causes of suffering and punishment.
The verse reflects a nyāya-like method of reasoning—questioning cause and effect in ethical matters—often used in dharma discussions alongside Vedanga-informed interpretive discipline.
