Dīkṣā, Mantra-Types, Mantra-Doṣas, and Qualifications of Ācārya–Śiṣya

मनोर्यस्यादिमध्यांते वह्निबीजं तथोच्यते । चतुर्द्धा पञ्चधा वापि स मन्त्रश्छिन्नसंज्ञकः ॥ २१ ॥

manoryasyādimadhyāṃte vahnibījaṃ tathocyate | caturddhā pañcadhā vāpi sa mantraśchinnasaṃjñakaḥ || 21 ||

Um mantra em que a sílaba-semente do Fogo (vahni-bīja) é colocada no início, no meio e no fim da fórmula prescrita, e que depois é dividido em quatro partes ou mesmo em cinco, é conhecido como mantra “chinna” (cortado/segmentado).
