कृत्वाभ्युदयिकं श्राद्धं पिता पुत्रस्य वाग्यतः । कुर्वीत नामनिर्द्देशं सूतकांते यथाविधि ॥ ७ ॥

kṛtvābhyudayikaṃ śrāddhaṃ pitā putrasya vāgyataḥ | kurvīta nāmanirddeśaṃ sūtakāṃte yathāvidhi || 7 ||

Depois de realizar o śrāddha auspicioso (abhyudayika), o pai—no momento apropriado para o filho—deve, ao término do sūtaka (período de impureza do nascimento), declarar formalmente o nome da criança conforme o rito prescrito.
