Ekādaśī Vrata-Vidhi and the Galava–Bhadrashīla Itihāsa
Dharmakīrti before Yama
Narada (narrating in first person, within the Narada–Sanatkumara dialogue frame)
Vrata: Ekādaśī (implied by context)
Primary Rasa: bhakti
Secondary Rasa: shanta
It highlights tapas through two classic disciplines—nirāhāra (fasting) and jāgaraṇa (night vigil)—showing steadiness of mind even when external supports (like an army) are absent.
Though Vishnu is not named here, the practices of fasting and keeping vigil are common bhakti-supporting vrata elements, training attention, humility, and dependence on inner spiritual strength rather than worldly protection.
No specific Vedanga (like Vyakarana or Jyotisha) is taught in this verse; the practical takeaway is vrata-dharma discipline—nirāhāra and jāgaraṇa—as a lived application of dharmic conduct.
