FAQs

It frames devotion as benevolent and universal: worship of Viṣṇu is paired with a prayer for svasti (well-being) for all worlds, making bhakti inseparable from compassion and auspicious intent.

Bhakti is shown through namaskāra (reverent bowing) to Viṣṇu as sarvaviṣṇu (the all-pervading Lord), indicating devotion that recognizes God’s presence everywhere and seeks the good of all beings.

The verse reflects the Vedic mangala/svasti-prayoga tradition—an auspicious benediction used at the start of recitation or ritual—rather than a technical Vedanga teaching like Vyākaraṇa or Jyotiṣa.
