Bhāgīratha’s Bringing of the Gaṅgā
यत्तेजसा भान्ति दिवाकराद्या नातिक्रमन्त्यस्य कदापि शिक्षाः । कालात्मकं तं त्रिदशाधिनाथं नमामहेवै पुरुषार्थरूपम् ॥ ५७ ॥
yattejasā bhānti divākarādyā nātikramantyasya kadāpi śikṣāḥ | kālātmakaṃ taṃ tridaśādhināthaṃ namāmahevai puruṣārtharūpam || 57 ||
Pelo Seu fulgor brilham o Sol e os demais luminares, e Suas ordenanças jamais são transgredidas, nem mesmo por disciplinas como a Śikṣā. A Ele, cuja natureza é o Tempo, Senhor dos deuses e própria encarnação dos fins da vida humana, nós de fato nos curvamos.

Bhakti here is expressed as stuti (reverent praise) and śaraṇāgati (bowing to the Lord), recognizing him as the ultimate ruler behind the Sun, the gods, and the moral-spiritual order.
Śikṣā (Vedāṅga phonetics and correct recitation) is invoked as a symbol of strict rule-governed Vedic practice, emphasizing that sacred disciplines operate under divine ordinance and should not be violated.
