Dharmopadeśa-Śānti: Rules of Impurity, Expiations, and Ancestor Rites

FAQs

It teaches that Dharma recognizes intention and necessity: accidental mishaps during prescribed giving, and necessary medicinal intake, do not generate sin requiring prāyaścitta.

By removing anxiety over unintended ritual faults, it supports steady devotional practice—prioritizing sincere intention and the continuity of worship over fear-based scrupulosity.

It reflects Kalpa (ritual procedure) and Dharmaśāstra-style decision rules: exceptions where prāyaścitta is not applied due to accident or medical necessity.
