Sanatkumara (in dialogue with Narada)
Vrata: Manv-ādi (śrāddha-associated observance)
Primary Rasa: shanta
Secondary Rasa: bhakti
It identifies a highly auspicious astrological and calendrical combination for performing Śrāddha-linked observances, emphasizing that correct timing (kāla) greatly amplifies puṇya and supports the Pitṛs.
While primarily a Dharma/Jyotiṣa instruction, it supports Bhakti indirectly by prescribing disciplined, faith-filled ancestral offerings—acts traditionally performed as worshipful duty (sevā) that purify the heart and sustain dharmic life oriented toward mokṣa.
Jyotiṣa Vedāṅga: selecting Śrāddha timing using tithi (kṛṣṇa Trayodaśī), māsa (Bhādrapada), and nakṣatra placements (Moon in Maghā, Sun in Hasta).
