Sanatkumara (teaching Narada in a Vedanga/astrology section)
Vrata: none
Primary Rasa: bhayanaka
Secondary Rasa: karuna
It frames Jyotiṣa as a Vedāṅga tool for discerning karmic outcomes (āyus/ariṣṭa) so that one may respond with dharmic remedies, prayer, and right conduct rather than fatalism.
Though technical, it implicitly supports bhakti by urging timely recourse to protective dharma—such as worship, vows, and auspicious rites—when harmful omens are seen in a chart.
Jyotiṣa: interpretation of the 8th house (randhra), kendras, planetary aspects (dṛṣṭi), debility/weakness (kṣīṇa), watery signs, and malefic combinations indicating ariṣṭa (danger) to infant longevity.
