तद्वर्गतो दशगुणात्पद भूपरिधिर्भवेत् । लंबज्याघ्नस्वजीवाप्तः स्फुटो भूपरिधिः स्वकः ॥ ८४ ॥
tadvargato daśaguṇātpada bhūparidhirbhavet | laṃbajyāghnasvajīvāptaḥ sphuṭo bhūparidhiḥ svakaḥ || 84 ||
Dez vezes o quadrado desse valor dá uma circunferência da Terra obtida por etapas (aproximada). Porém, a circunferência exata alcança-se multiplicando pelo seno da distância ao zênite (lamba-jyā) e dividindo pelo próprio valor de jīva (seno).
