गुणघ्नमूलोनयुतः सगुणार्द्धे कृतं पदम् । दृष्टस्य च गुणार्द्धो न युतं वर्गीकृतं गुणः ॥ ३५ ॥
guṇaghnamūlonayutaḥ saguṇārddhe kṛtaṃ padam | dṛṣṭasya ca guṇārddho na yutaṃ vargīkṛtaṃ guṇaḥ || 35 ||
Quando a raiz quadrada é combinada com o termo subtrativo multiplicado pelo coeficiente, e isso é aplicado juntamente com a metade do coeficiente, forma-se o (próximo) passo. E, para a quantidade em exame, a metade do coeficiente—se não for somada à raiz—ao ser elevada ao quadrado torna-se o coeficiente resultante.
