छन्नघ्नमस्मान्मूलं तु खांगोनग्लौवपुर्हृतम् । स्थित्यर्द्धं घटिकादिस्याद्व्यंगबाह्वंशसंमितैः ॥ १५६ ॥
channaghnamasmānmūlaṃ tu khāṃgonaglauvapurhṛtam | sthityarddhaṃ ghaṭikādisyādvyaṃgabāhvaṃśasaṃmitaiḥ || 156 ||
Por este procedimento obtém-se o valor ‘raiz’ eliminando o fator oculto e removendo os termos indicados pelos símbolos kha, aṅga, na, gla e vapu. Em seguida determina-se a meia-duração em ghaṭikās e unidades afins, medida pela cúbito ajustado e suas subdivisões.
