Narada Purana — Purva Bhaga, Shloka 106

Sṛṣṭi-pralaya-kathana: Mahābhūta-guṇāḥ, Vṛkṣa-indriya-vādaḥ, Prāṇa-vāyu-vyavasthā

अपानप्राणयोर्मध्ये प्राणापानसमीहितः । समन्वितस्त्वधिष्ठानं सम्यक् पचति पावकः ॥ १०६ ॥

apānaprāṇayormadhye prāṇāpānasamīhitaḥ | samanvitastvadhiṣṭhānaṃ samyak pacati pāvakaḥ || 106 ||

Entre apāna e prāṇa, quando prāṇa e apāna estão devidamente coordenados, o fogo interior—bem sustentado em seu assento—“cozinha” (digere) o alimento corretamente.
