Brāhma Purāṇānukramaṇikā
पुराणमेकमेवासीत्सर्वकल्पेषु मानद । चतुर्वर्गस्य बीजं च शतकोटिप्रविस्तरम् ॥ २२ ॥
purāṇamekamevāsītsarvakalpeṣu mānada | caturvargasya bījaṃ ca śatakoṭipravistaram || 22 ||
Ó doador de honra, em cada kalpa, no princípio, havia apenas um Purāṇa; ele era a semente dos quatro fins da vida (dharma, artha, kāma, mokṣa) e era vastíssimo, estendendo-se a cem koṭi.
