The Explanation of the Twelve-Month Caturthī Vrata
Narada (contextual attribution within the Narada–Sanatkumara dialogue framework)
Vrata: none
Primary Rasa: bhakti
Secondary Rasa: shanta
It links correct ritual procedure (vidhi) with its promised result (phala) and emphasizes that devotionally invoking Vighneśa on Pauṣa Caturthī ensures obstacle-free completion of sacred acts.
Bhakti is presented as the operative inner attitude—one should not merely perform the rite mechanically, but pray “with devotion” to Vighneśa, making sincere surrender integral to successful observance.
It highlights calendrical and ritual timing—observance on a specific tithi (Caturthī) within a specific lunar month (Pauṣa), reflecting practical Jyotiṣa-based scheduling used in vrata and pūjā.
