होमश्च सर्षपैः कार्यो यवैः कृष्णतिलैस्तथा पलाशसमिधः शस्ताश् चतुर्थे ऽह्नि तथोत्सवः दक्षिणा च पुनस्तद्वद् देया तत्रापि शक्तितः //
homaśca sarṣapaiḥ kāryo yavaiḥ kṛṣṇatilaistathā palāśasamidhaḥ śastāś caturthe 'hni tathotsavaḥ dakṣiṇā ca punastadvad deyā tatrāpi śaktitaḥ //
Deve-se realizar o homa (oferta ao fogo) com sementes de mostarda, com cevada e também com gergelim preto; e as varetas de madeira de palāśa são louvadas como o combustível apropriado. No quarto dia deve haver também uma celebração (utsava); e, novamente, do mesmo modo, deve-se conceder ali também a dakṣiṇā (honorário sacerdotal) conforme a capacidade.
