Adhyaya 76 — The Sixth Manvantara: Cakshusha Manu, the Child-Snatcher, and the Problem of Kinship
sāmprataṃ vartate yo 'yaṃ nāmnā vaivasvato manuḥ / saptamīye 'ntare tasya devādyās tān śṛṇuṣva me
The ‘present Manu’ claim situates listeners inside a living sacred chronology, implying that dharma is not merely ancient history but the current operating order.
Manvantara: explicit introduction to the 7th manvantara and its standard components (devas, etc.).
Calling the current cycle by name (Vaivasvata) is a cosmological ‘address’—a way of locating the self within vast time, encouraging humility and dharmic alignment.
