Adhyaya 51 — Jaimini Returns
तयोरपत्यान्यभवने जगद्व्यापीनि षोडश ।
अष्टौ कुमाराः कन्याश्च तथाष्टावतिभीषणाः ॥
tayor apatyāny abhavane jagadvyāpīni ṣoḍaśa / aṣṭau kumārāḥ kanyāś ca tathāṣṭāvatibhīṣaṇāḥ
Desses dois nasceram dezesseis descendentes, errantes e que permeiam o mundo: oito eram “kumāras” (afligidores de meninos) e, do mesmo modo, oito eram “kanyās” (contrapartes femininas) sobremaneira terríveis.
