Adhyaya 22 — Dharma of Giving
तत्क्षणात् चेतनां प्राप्य सर्वास्ता नृपयोषितः ।
राजपत्नीश्च राजा च विलेपुरतिदुःखिताः ॥
tatkṣaṇāt cetanāṃ prāpya sarvāstā nṛpayoṣitaḥ /
rājapatnīś ca rājā ca vilepur atiduḥkhitāḥ

The Purāṇic style often sets the stage of intense sorrow before introducing higher discernment (viveka). Grief is acknowledged, then transcended through instruction.

‘Regaining consciousness’ can be read on two levels: physical waking from a swoon and the impending possibility of spiritual waking from moha (delusion).
