Adhyaya 2 — The Lineage of Garuda and the Birth of the Wise Birds: Kanka and Kandhara

Sanskrit

तामादाय खगश्रेष्ठः स्वकं गृहमगात् पुनः ।

गत्वा स निष्कृतिं भ्रातुर्विद्युद्रुपनिपातनात् ॥

Transliteration

tām ādāya khagaśreṣṭhaḥ svakaṃ gṛham agāt punaḥ /

gatvā sa niṣkṛtiṃ bhrātur vidyudrupanipātanāt //

Translation

Tomando-a consigo, o melhor das aves retornou novamente à sua própria morada. Chegando ali, realizou a expiação (prāyaścitta) em favor de seu irmão, por causa da queda de uma árvore atingida pelo raio.
