Adhyāya 61: Saṃmohana-astra and the Kuru Withdrawal
Even amid violence, dharmic action favors measured force: Arjuna disables the instrument of harm (the bow) with precision, illustrating restraint, proportional response, and mastery over anger.
In the Virāṭa Parva battle episode, Arjuna turns to face his opponent and, with a broad-edged, vulture-feathered arrow, cuts the gold-adorned bow, thereby neutralizing the enemy’s fighting capacity.
