Dhanaṃjaya’s Reassurance and the Opening Engagement

yathāmānaṃ yathoddeśaṃ vimānāni cakāśire ||

Educational Q&A

The verse highlights order and propriety (yathā-mānam, yathoddeśam): even heavenly magnificence operates within measure and assigned place, implying that true grandeur aligns with discipline and rightful arrangement—an ethical echo of dharma as ordered conduct.

Vaiśampāyana describes a celestial spectacle: the vimānas of Gandharvas—Alambūṣā, Ugrasena, and the renowned Tumburu—appear shining in different regions of the sky, each according to its size and designated position.
