Agastya–Lopāmudrā: Marriage, Austerity, and Conditions for Conjugal Union (लोमशकथितम्)
यत्र सम गाथा गायन्ति मनुष्या भरतर्षभ । अन्नपानै: शुभैस्तृप्ता देशे देशे सुवर्चस:,राजन! वहाँ सब ओर फैले हुए पुण्यमय शब्दसे पृथ्वी, दिशाएँ, स्वर्ग और आकाश परिपूर्ण हो गये। यह बड़ी ही अद्भुत बात थी। भरतश्रेष्ठ) उस यज्ञमें सब मनुष्य यह गाथा गाते रहते थे कि “इस यज्ञमें देश-देशके अत्यन्त तेजस्वी पुरुष उत्तम अन्नपानसे तृप्त हो रहे हैं!
yatra sama-gāthā gāyanti manuṣyā bharatarṣabha | annapānaiḥ śubhais tṛptā deśe deśe suvarcasāḥ ||
Ó touro entre os Bharatas! Naquele lugar, as pessoas continuavam a cantar um refrão comum: “Neste sacrifício, de região em região, homens de esplêndido fulgor estão sendo saciados com excelente comida e bebida.” Por essas palavras auspiciosas, amplamente difundidas, a terra, as direções, os céus e o firmamento pareciam repletos—um acontecimento verdadeiramente maravilhoso.
शमठ उवाच
The verse praises a yajña characterized by inclusive nourishment: the ethical excellence of a rite is shown not merely by formal performance but by sustaining people with good food and drink, accompanied by auspicious, truth-aligned speech that spreads merit.
Śamaṭha describes a sacrificial setting where people repeatedly sing a shared refrain celebrating that illustrious persons from many regions are being satisfied with fine provisions; the sound of this praise is portrayed as pervading earth, the directions, heaven, and the sky, emphasizing the wonder and renown of the event.
