वेणा भीमरथी चैव नद्यौ पापभयापहे । मृगद्धिजसमाकीर्णे तापसालयभूषिते,वेणा और भीमरथी--ये दो नदियाँ भी दक्षिणमें ही हैं जो समस्त पापभयका नाश करनेवाली हैं। उसके दोनों तट अनेक प्रकारके पशु-पक्षियोंसे व्याप्त और तपस्वीजनोंके आश्रमोंसे विभूषित हैं
veṇā bhīmarathī caiva nadyau pāpabhayāpahe | mṛgadviijasamākīrṇe tāpasālayabhūṣite ||
Dhaumya disse: “Ali, na região do sul, há também os rios Veṇā e Bhīmarathī; eles dissipam o temor nascido do pecado. Suas margens estão repletas de animais e aves de muitas espécies e são ornadas pelos eremitérios dos ascetas—lugares que fomentam a pureza, o autocontrole e a serenidade espiritual.”
धौम्य उवाच
The verse links sacred geography with ethical purification: places associated with ascetic practice and natural harmony are portrayed as dispelling the fear and burden of sin, encouraging restraint, reverence, and inner cleansing.
Dhaumya is describing southern sacred rivers—Veṇā and Bhīmarathī—highlighting their sanctifying power and the serene, hermitage-filled landscape along their banks.
