Dhaumya’s Enumeration of Eastern Tīrthas
Prācī-diś Tīrtha-kathana
The verse teaches that devotion should be expressed with correct conduct—approaching the deity, offering respectful salutation, performing pradakṣiṇā, and withdrawing properly. Such disciplined reverence is presented as dharmic behavior that leads to auspicious spiritual results, here described as attaining Gaṇapati’s favor.
Pulastya instructs the listener (addressed as ‘Bhārata’) on a prescribed mode of worship: one should go to Mahādeva (Śiva), bow to him, circumambulate, and then depart respectfully; by doing so, one gains the benefit associated with Gaṇapati.
